Jodi Refosco

My journey in the vacation rental industry started as a hot tub technician for my parents’ vacation rental company, where I worked for 12 years, eventually taking on the role of General Manager. When my parents retired, I co-founded Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations in 2008 with my brother, Chad Taylor, and my husband, Joe Refosco. Our team grew the company to be the largest vacation rental company in Deep Creek Lake. In 2015, we started a real estate division with a successful local sales agent, Jay Ferguson. Shortly after that, Betsy Spiker Holcomb, a top-producing agent, joined the brokerage as a co-owner and agent. In 2016, we acquired the Deep Creek branch of Long & Foster. Through the years, we have invited vacation rental companies from across the country to come and learn from our experiences. We sold the vacation rental division to VTrips in 2021 and spent a year supporting the transition.

After selling the company, Joe and I launched Timber Rock Village, a collection of self-managed, high touch, custom-built vacation rental homes at Deep Creek Lake. Offering nine high-end lakefront and lake access properties, Phase I of the Village is complete. Phase II includes plans for seven more homes, walking trails, a fitness center, a sauna, and an outdoor pool.

Joe, Chad and I continue to collaborate through two recent ventures−Taylor Refosco Consulting and Salt and Sun Vacations. Through consulting, we offer expertise on nearly every aspect of vacation rental management, while Salt and Sun provides management services to Southwest Florida owners.

I have a longstanding commitment to the Vacation Rental Management Association (VRMA) and the Vacation Rental Housekeeping Professionals (VRHP). Over the years, I’ve held various roles within VRMA, including President, Secretary, and Chair of the Education and Membership Committees. Currently, I serve as Chair of the Board of Directors. My passion for sharing knowledge also led to the formation of the Vacation Rental Exchange (VRX), an annual gathering of non-competing vacation rental companies to discuss industry challenges and opportunities.

In my local community, currently, I sit on the board of the Garrett Regional Foundation.

I enjoy the lake in the summer and the slopes in the winter, hanging with my husband and our kids. We are avid travelers and love to see vacation rentals around the country to inspire us to bring something special to our company and provide to our guests.
