Claire Reiswerg

Born and bred BOI (Born on the Island) Claire Reiswerg returned to Galveston in 2003, relocating from Los
Angeles where she worked as a documentary television producer for over 20 years. She joined Sand `N Sea Properties, her family’s real estate and vacation rental management company in 2004, managing technology and marketing. Today, the 50 year-old company manages 160 vacation properties on the west end of Galveston Island, and Claire manages administration, marketing, technology and real estate sales.

Over the years, Claire has served on many community boards and committees focusing on island tourism and vacation rentals, and she has testified against proposed state preemption laws during the past two legislative sessions. She is currently working with local STR operators and city officials to create a master plan for the island’s vacation rental industry – one that addresses the needs of neighborhoods and residents as well as those of vacation rental owners and property management companies. Current community work includes: Board Member, Vision Galveston; Founding member and President, Galveston Association of Vacation Rental Managers (GARM); Board Member, Galveston Hotel & Lodging Association (GHLA); Member, Tourism Development Advisory Committee (TDAC); Member VRMA National Advocacy Committee.
